Advance HE Fellowship at Nazarbayev University
Advance HE Fellowship is an internationally recognized professional recognition scheme that acknowledges excellence in teaching and supporting learning in higher education. It provides educators with an opportunity to demonstrate their teaching expertise, reflect on their professional practice, and gain recognition aligned with the Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023).
NU Fellowship Recongition Achievements
Nazarbayev University continues to strengthen its commitment to teaching excellence through internationally recognized professional achievements.
CILT supports applicants through professional development workshops, individual consultations, reflective practice guidance, and preparation of Fellowship applications.
As of October 2026, 78 NU Faculty members have achieved Advance HE Fellowship recognition.

Fellowship categories
Advance HE offers four categories of Fellowship:
- Associate Fellow (AFHEA)For professionals whose roles involve specific aspects of teaching and supporting learning.
- Fellow (FHEA)For educators who demonstrate effective and inclusive teaching practices in higher education.
- Senior Fellow (SFHEA)For experienced educators who demonstrate leadership and influence on the teaching and learning practices of others.
- Principal Fellow (PFHEA)For highly experienced professionals who demonstrate sustained strategic leadership and impact on teaching and learning at an institutional or wider level.
