The CiLT at NU nitiated the Community of Postdoctoral Scholars in October 2023.
This monthly forum allows postdoctoral scholars to highlight and collaboratively address their most pressing professional challenges. By empowering the scholars to select discussion topics, the community ensures relevance and immediate applicability of solutions, thereby fostering a supportive network that promotes academic and professional advancement within the university.
By participating, postdoctoral scholars have the opportunity to:
  • Collaborate with peers from different disciplines
  • Explore and implement innovative teaching methods
  • Receive support and resources for their teaching practice,
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning at Nazarbayev University

Next Steps
Future development plans include formalizing needs-based workshops into a structured program integrated with the Epigeum University Core Skills Course. A dedicated Moodle site will host workshop resources for easy access. After each session, summaries and resources will be distributed to all postdoctoral scholars, reflecting the program's commitment to ongoing support and engagement. Despite being only four months old, the initiative shows significant promise, with plans to extend this model to benefit broader learning and teaching communities at the university.
