CiLT will pursue the vision of championing Nazarbayev University as a center of world class excellence in the field of higher education learning and teaching. It will promote international best practices in pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment for contemporary, technology informed teaching. Through the development of local partnerships, the Center will share international practices and build capacity throughout the higher education sector in Kazakhstan.

The Center for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CiLT) has five missions:

• To develop strategy, policy and infrastructure to support excellence in learning and teaching across the institution.
• To provide professional learning to motivate and support excellence in pedagogical practice, curriculum development, assessment design, and the integration of technology for student-centered, and research-integrated learning and teaching.
• To support the development of innovative resources for learning and teaching, including resources for online learning.
• To foster research on learning and teaching practices.
• To disseminate best practices in learning and teaching nationally, regionally and internationally through community partnerships
